Are there other ways to give paper an appealing surface ?

• Paper can be made in white and tints, smooth, rough or glossy, coated or un coated and that again in matt or glossy. Paper makers can also emboss it and supply it fully opaque or near transparent.
• Converters and printers can coat or laminate it with other materials, metallize, print or further emboss it.
• For further special effects printers and converters can add holograms or apply gold or silver through hot-foil stamping or give the paper a matt or glossy varnish.
