Can paper be embossed ?

• Paper is a perfect material for embossing, unlike several other substrates for packaging, printing and labelling.
• Paper mills that do make embossed papers, usually offer different patterns to choose from. Popular patterns are “linen” or “egg shell”. Embossed papers are used for bottle labels and of course for many other kinds of printed products.
• Embossed labels are particularly used for returnable (beer) bottles, because the embossing speeds up the label removal process in fast bottling lines.
