Can paper be given a metallic look ?

• Yes, paper can be given a “metallic” look in three different ways: by laminating it with aluminium foil, by vacuum metallizing and by printing the surface (or parts of it) with metallic printing inks.
• Through vacuum metallizing an ultra thin layer (0,02 - 0,04 µm) of aluminium is deposited on the paper surface to give it a metallic gold or silver coloured look. In a recycling process this metallic layer can be removed like printing ink.
