Can paper be vacuum metallized?
Yes, paper can be vacuum metallized either in the direct or in the “transfer” process. Several major European metallizers are specialized in using paper.
Metallized paper is primarily used for beer bottle labels and for the inner liner of cigarette packs.
In a recycling process this metallic layer can be removed like printing ink.
