Does paper stretch; is it elastic ?

Paper can be given exactly the characteristics that a customer or specific end-use needs. This is first of all done by selecting the type(s) of fibres and their proportions in the “pulp mix”. In the mechanical treatment of the pulp the pre-determined characteristics for strength, stretch, opacity, etc. are achieved.

A “high-stretch” paper is e.g. needed for packing confectionery by means of “twisting”.
