How fast does wood grow ?

That’s difficult to say. It all depends on the type of tree and the area where it lives. Obviously growth is slower in the colder areas in the North of Europe. Nevertheless the volume of wood needed for the yearly production of the PaperImpact members (1,5 million tons) is replaced during ONE WEEK of summer growth in the Finnish forests ! This shows how powerful nature is.

The European forest area has increased by 340.000 ha since 1990 and produces 80 million m3 of wood annually, only half of which is harvested.
