How much forest is there in the world ?

About 40% of the dry land area of the world is covered with forests. In Europe it is 35% with the densest forest areas in Sweden and Finland with 65 to 70%.

Finland alone has 26 million hectares of forest containing 2000 million m3 of wood. That is 25% more than in 1970.
