Is paper packaging sufficiently strong to protect its contents?

Yes it is. Packaging paper is given different types of strengths, each for specific pre-determined targets. Both during the production process and in the laboratory thereafter, numerous tests are made.

Packaging paper is made resistant to tearing, to bursting and to breaking under high tension.

An added advantage of paper is that it has ‘controlled tear” meaning that when the final user opens a bag or wrapper by tearing, it will tear exactly as far as he or she wants, thus preventing the contents from falling out of it.
